The HUBZone (Historically Underutilized Business Zone) certification is a federal program that helps small businesses in urban and rural communities gain preferential access to federal contracts. To be eligible, a business must be a small business, at least 51% owned and controlled by U.S. citizens, and have its principal office located in a designated HUBZone area, which are areas with low-to-moderate income and high unemployment.
