What does government contracting do?

Government contracting, often referred to as “acquisitions”, is the act of obtaining goods and services from a business (i.e., the contractor) on behalf of a public authority such as a government agency. The federal government does not produce goods or services for themselves, so they rely on contractors to hire for their needs.
