Certifications

Unlock federal contracting opportunities with the right set-aside certifications.

From WOSB to 8(a), we help your business qualify and compete with confidence.

Why get certified?

Each year, the federal government allocates 23% of all federal contracting dollars to certified small businesses.

In FY 2024, small businesses secured a record $183 billion in federal contracts—28.8% of all contracting dollars—marking the fourth straight year of growth. Explore which set-aside certifications your business may qualify for to access these opportunities.

Competitive Edge in a Crowded Market

The federal marketplace is one of the most competitive environments in business. Certifications act as a door-opener, giving your company preferred status when agencies and prime contractors are evaluating partners. For example, agencies actively search for WOSB, HUBZone, and SDVOSB-certified firms to meet their small business contracting goals.

When you’re certified, you’re not just another bidder—you’re exactly the type of company agencies must do business with.

  • Many certifications unlock multi-year agreements, recurring revenue streams, and stable growth pipelines that small businesses can depend on

Strategic Partnerships & Teaming

Certified firms are also highly sought after as teaming partners and subcontractors by larger primes. Having a certification makes you a valuable asset to major government contractors who need certified partners to strengthen their proposals.

This means your certifications don’t just create direct opportunities—they also open the door to partnerships, mentorships, and bigger contract vehicles.

  • Certifications build instant credibility with contracting officers and primes

Looking for the GSA Schedule?

We offer this. A GSA Schedule is a long-term government-wide contract managed by the General Services Administration that allows federal agencies to buy goods and services from pre-approved vendors at pre-negotiated prices.

Think of it as a “preferred vendor list” for the federal government—once your company is on a Schedule, agencies can purchase from you faster, without going through a lengthy procurement process.

For small businesses, securing a GSA Schedule can mean increased visibility, simplified sales, and access to billions in streamlined federal spending.

Certification Statistics

FY2024: About $183.5B to small businesses government-wide (a record), and about $69.6B of that came via small-business set-aside contracts.

FY2023 (prior year): $178.6B to small businesses (≈28.4% of eligible prime dollars).

SBA’s annual scorecard publishes each category’s dollars and percentages (e.g., SDB, WOSB, SDVOSB, HUBZone). Use the scorecard page for the most current FY detail.
FY2023: about 74,7xx unique small-business vendors won at least one prime award (directional benchmark; FY2024 vendor count not yet published in a single roll-up).

Yes. The SBA Vendor Counts dashboard publishes firm counts by socio-economic category for each FY, and USAspending can replicate them by counting unique UEIs/CAGEs under prime awards filtered by type of set-aside

The official Small Business Goaling/Scorecard reports include dollars and actions by year/agency. Pull the FY totals from SBA’s scorecard/“disaggregated data” pages.

There isn’t a published, official annual total.

GSA shares high-level SAM activity (e.g., millions of users, registration guidance), but not a yearly “renewal count.”

A practical estimate requires combining SAM active-entity data + renewal cycles.
